The quality of work output is consistently monitored by the Contracts Manager, The Foreman and by Peter Quinn, who believes in taking a hands on approach to his business. The work force including sub contractors have been working with Qmac for an average of five years and therefore understand the high standards which are expected. All the work force are highly skilled and have served recognised apprenticeships within their respective trade.

QMAC Construction Ltd uses the following standard company procedures and standing instructions to ensure quality assurance. These are the basis for the company's quality system. Employees are highly trained in, and are expected to adhere to, the established procedures.

These procedures are reviewed and updated on a continuous basis as the company expands and develops and as clients' quality requirements develop.

 

QMAC Construction Ltd has developed a documentation based, quality control system which includes:

  1. Site diary to record all issues on site and daily progression on jobs.
  2. Written confirmation of verbal instructions from agents and clients.
  3. Daily labour/plant allocation sheets for each site.
  4. Written requests for information from clients/agents.
  5. Notification to execute sub-contract works issued to all sub-contractors well in advance of the job commencing.
  6. Concise instructions to sub-contractors detailing work and terms and conditions.
  7. Standard letter for sub-contractors/site contract charges.
  8. Dayworks sheets completed by all foremen.
  9. Weekly site progress reports completed by the Contracts Manager.
  10. Information required schedule.
  11. Materials/quantity take off schedules.
  12. Short term programmes which are reviewed weekly.
  13. Plant/ equipment maintenance programme.

To back up this documentation QMAC Construction Ltd implements a number of procedures which are now an accepted part of every contract. These include:

  1. Weekly Management meetings.
  2. Weekly site meetings with all sub-contractors.
  3. Monthly site meetings with client representatives.
  4. Procedures for placing sub-contracts.
  5. Sub-contract pre-order meeting.
  6. Directly employed labour bonus payments which are based on quality.
  7. Site planning.
  8. Material reconciliation.
