Refurbishment of Blocks MH and MQ at Ulster University, Magee

A c. £800,000 project, which involved the fast-track refurbishment of Blocks MH and MQ at the Ulster University Magee campus, was completed in 2023. The work comprised refurbishment and alterations to accommodate the teaching requirements for the new BSc (Hons) Games Design undergraduate degree programme. The completed refurbishment has provided a mix of specialist teaching spaces, staff offices, and ancillary accommodation. The work involved the following:

• Internal alterations to walls and doorways.
• New floor, wall, and ceiling finishes.
• Electrical services: removals, new LV power and outlets, new containment and distribution, new general and emergency lighting and controls, alterations to existing fire alarm system and access control.
• Mechanical services: removals, new ventilation, heating, and cooling plant, BMS, and public health services.
• Installation of audio-visual equipment.
