QMAC Construction has completed many high profile and high quality commercial projects across Northern Ireland throughout its existence. Due to the demands of many commercial clients, there have been tight deadlines and budgets under which our service has remained the highest quality.

Many different projects undertaken by QMAC Construction include offices, retail, industrial, hotel and mixed-use developments. The experience and quality of the company dictates the variety of schemes on which we can work.

Killeaton House, Dunmurry

Client: Danske Bank

The works included alterations to the existing building to provide space for increased staff numbers. The existing building had an interior courtyard which was enclosed to provide a canteen area. The new canteen/breakout space was constructed on piled foundations with a steel frame, concrete raft slab, utilising a timber & membrane roof with velux windows. Above the cooking equipment zone, external plant space was formed on the roof. The areas around the rooftop plant were cladded, with an access door formed on 1st floor level. A new entrance lobby was constructed including the installation of an entrance canopy. Mechanical and electrical services were upgraded including toilet facilities, installation of ceiling cassettes for ventilation, new lighting, fire alarm and access control.

The Junction

Client: STEP (South Tyrone Empowerment Programme)

QMAC delivered on time and to budget a mixed use community development. It is an imposing 3 storey building situated on the busy fringes of Dungannon town centre. Within the sharp, industrial style of the external facade belies the light and spacious interior of this contemporary project. The project comprised of office space and multipurpose spaces for tenants and community use, including meeting rooms, training facilities and exhibition space, totalling 2140 sqm. The beautifully designed central atrium and circulation core encourages integration with the existing park and pedestrian walkways. Provision of a community café, leading directly onto adjacent Railway Park, further encompasses the concept that social and commercial enterprises can merge and exist in a shared community building.

DARD – Academy House

Client: Central Procurement Directorate

QMAC delivered this exemplar office accommodation which required the refurbishment of a first floor and part refurbishment of the ground floor building to accommodate the Department of Agriculture’s veterinary laboratories, stores and office facilities to form a new DARD Direct office.

The Apex Building

Client: Apex Housing Association

QMAC completed, on time and to the £2.8m budget, the provision of an office block refurbishment on the site known as The Apex Building, Butcher Street, Londonderry. The scheme was provided over four storeys with a floor area in excess of 35,000 sq ft.

Bluestone Business Park, Craigavon

Client: Brownlow Ltd

QMAC successfully delivered the design and build of a business park at Bluestone Industrial Estate Craigavon consisting of nine industrial units, substantial car parking, associated site works and an access road.

Lock Keepers Cottage, Shaws Bridge, Belfast

Client: Castlereagh Borough Council

Castlereagh Borough Council appointed QMAC to carefully and sensitively refurbish the listed Lock Keepers Cottage and to construct a new Visitors Centre to provide a landmark facility along the heavily foot-falled area of the Lagan Tow Path at Shaws Bridge, Belfast.

O’Kane Funeral Home

Client: Hugh O’Kane & Co Ltd

The scheme involved the provision of office accommodation, specialist sanitary accommodation, public areas and a Chapel of Rest at located via Donegal Street, Belfast. The funeral home situated in central Belfast was completely refurbished whilst the client remained in operational occupation. The project was handed over in phases to facilitate the client.

Belfast Zoo

Client: Belfast City Council

The building comprised one storey construction but to standard two storey height, and involved the use of feature oak trusses and feature glazing to the main entrance and reception areas complete with ticketing turnstiles manifesting in an impressive presentation in keeping with the standing of the building.
