Contractor Appointed for Ardoyne Youth Enterprise Centre
QMAC Construction has been appointed by Belfast City Council to deliver the c. £2.8m new four-storey Ardoyne Youth Enterprise Centre.

The project is supported through The Executive Office’s Urban Villages Initiative, Department for Communities, Belfast City Council, The Clothworkers’ Foundation, and Garfield Weston Foundation. Work commenced on site late February 2026. The Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Tracy Kelly, helped cut the first sod. The project, developed by Farren Architects, in collaboration with Mark Hackett Architects, brings together youth, creative, and social enterprises within a new shared building that redefines one of the city’s most complex interface zones. The building will provide a mix of open-plan youth spaces, digital learning studios and office accommodation.
At the sod-cutting, Michelle O’Neill, First Minister, said:
“I’m really pleased to see work underway on this new youth hub. Ardoyne Youth Enterprise has shown incredible vision and determination. For years this site sat empty, but they saw the potential to create a space where young people can learn, connect and get the support they need. With over £2 million from The Executive Office, this will be a fantastic resource for young people and families across North Belfast.”
Emma Little-Pengelly, Deputy First Minister, said:
“It is great to see work underway on this fantastic new youth hub. This facility will see the transformation of a derelict site into a place of learning and opportunity for so many young people. I am delighted that The Executive Office has been able to support such an important project through the Urban Villages Initiative and I have no doubt it will have a positive impact in the North Belfast area.”
We look forward to working with McAdam Design, Farren Architects, and our dedicated supply chain partners on this prestigious project.
